"Peace Still Remains"

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee…”  Isaiah 26:3

This week felt heavy. You didn’t have to search for it, it found you. In the headlines. In conversations. In the unsettling images of leaders taking on godly appearances and  openly mocking what once was held as sacred. It left a quiet uneasiness.
And I asked the  question.....How did we get here?

For a moment, it was disheartening. Then, my thoughts were drawn to Book of Daniel, to the story of Nebuchadnezzar. He was a king who built an image of himself made of gold. A king who demanded reverence that belonged only to God. A king whose power grew so great that he lost sight of who he was. And yet… God was not moved. Not shaken. Not displaced.

While the world elevated human power, God remained exactly who He has always been, sovereign and unchanging. That realization is important to me.  Because the noise of this week tried to pull me into unrest. It tried to convince me that things were unraveling… that truth was being overshadowed.

But peace is not found in what is happening around us. It is found in who God remains above it. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee…”  Isaiah 26:3.

Peace does not come from understanding every headline. It comes from choosing where your mind will rest. I had to make a quiet decision. To turn away, not in ignorance but in anchoring. To remember that God has seen this before. He has witnessed pride before. He has responded to it before. And He will again.

The story of Nebuchadnezzar did not end in unchecked power. It ended in humbling… in recognition… in a moment where even he acknowledged God’s sovereignty. That matters. Because it reminds us that nothing we are witnessing is beyond God’s reach.

So this week… I chose peace. Not because everything felt right. But because I remembered who God is. Peace looked like stepping away from the noise. Sitting in stillness a little longer. Whispering, “God, You are still in control.” And slowly, my spirit settled. God’s peace remains, even when the world forgets who He is.

Pearl's Prayer:

Lord, In a world that feels unsettled, anchor me in Your truth. Guard my heart from fear and my mind from confusion. Help me rest in Your sovereignty. Let Your peace quiet every unrest within me.

Amen.

AMEN!

Let's keep our focus and anchor on our relationship with our God and Savior. And the event we witness on media will not shake us!
