My Soul Will Boast in the Lord.

When I first began sharing my devotional thoughts, I was hesitant. I knew God had placed the idea in my spirit, but I still wondered, “Is this really something I am supposed to do? Will my ordinary experiences mean anything to anyone else?” I did not have all the answers, but I stepped out on faith. I trusted that if God had placed the idea in my heart, He had a purpose for it.

Since then, God has continued to show me that this is what He wants me to do at this time in my life. The responses I receive often serve as confirmation. Someone may tell me that a devotional met her right where she was, gave her hope, or reminded her that God had not forgotten her. Sometimes a person will say, “I needed that today,” without knowing that I had hesitated before sharing it.

Those responses encourage me, but they also humble me. They remind me that this is not about drawing attention to myself. It is about being willing to share what God has placed within me and trusting Him with the results. That is what I hear in David’s words: “My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.”

David was not boasting about his strength or his ability to survive difficult situations. He was pointing away from himself and toward God. It was as if he were saying, “Let me tell you what the Lord has done for me.” David understood that when others heard his testimony, they might be encouraged to trust God for themselves.

That is also why I share. I share my daily experiences with God, not to boast about myself, but to help others see how He can use the ordinary events of our lives to do something extraordinary, even today. Most of my reflections do not begin with dramatic events. They grow from everyday life, a conversation, a walk through the garden, time with my family, an unexpected delay, or a quiet moment when God brings something to my attention. These may appear to be ordinary moments, but when God meets us in them, they become reminders of His extraordinary grace.

I am learning to trust God in my ordinary days. I often step out on faith, not because I know exactly what will happen, but because I believe He is in control. Sometimes I only have enough faith to take the next step. Yet when I take it, God meets me there and shows me that He was already ahead of me.

Perhaps you have also wondered whether your story matters. You may think your experience is too small or too ordinary to share. But someone may need to hear how God carried you through a difficult day, answered a quiet prayer, gave you unexpected strength, or provided peace while you waited. Your testimony does not have to be dramatic to be meaningful. You are simply saying, “God was with me here.” Those few words may help someone who is struggling believe that God is with them too.

Never underestimate what God can do with your willingness. You do not need to know who will be touched or how your words will be received. If God places something in your spirit to share, trust Him and take the next step. Let your life point toward His goodness.

That is why I continue to share. My life may be ordinary, but the God who walks through it with me is extraordinary. If one person hears what He has done and finds new hope, then my soul has truly made its boast in the Lord.

Lord, thank You for placing these devotional thoughts within my spirit. Help me share them with humility and trust You with the results. May my words never draw attention to me, but always point others toward Your goodness. Help us to use the ordinary experiences of our life to reveal Your extraordinary grace.
