The Bridge Is Already There

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”  1 Timothy 2:5, KJV

Have you ever sat down to pray and wondered where to begin? You knew you needed to talk to God, but your heart was heavy and the words would not come. Perhaps you felt disappointed in yourself, distant from God, or uncertain that He wanted to hear from you.

I have had moments like that, moments when I wanted to reach for God but did not quite know how. Sometimes life had become so busy that I had allowed distance to grow. At other times, worry, regret, or disappointment made me hesitate. I knew God was there, but I was not sure how to find my way back to Him. Maybe you have felt that way too.

That is why 1 Timothy 2:5 is such a comforting verse. It reminds us that we do not have to find our own way back to God. Jesus has already made the way. The way to Him has already been opened through Christ. When we do not know how to reach God, Jesus is our bridge and that bridge is always available.

Think about a bridge for a moment. It stretches across something we could not easily cross on our own, a deep river, a wide valley, or dangerous ground. We do not stand at the edge trying to create another way across. We trust the bridge and take the next step. Friend, Jesus is that bridge.

You do not have to clean yourself up before coming to God. You do not have to find impressive words or pretend that everything is fine. You can come with your questions, your tears, your disappointments, and even your silence. Jesus understands what you are carrying, and He brings you into the presence of the Father.

What has caused you to feel distant from God? What would it look like for you to trust Jesus as your bridge and come to the Father today?

Pearl's Prayer:

Father, thank You for sending Jesus to become the bridge that brings me back to You. When guilt, fear, or uncertainty makes me hesitate, remind me that the way into Your presence is already open. Help me to come honestly and confidently, trusting not in my own goodness but in the grace of Christ. Thank You for hearing me, welcoming me, and never turning me away.

In Jesus’ name, amen.
