He Died for Me... But He Lives."

"For I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand upon the earth."  Job 19:25 (NIV)

My heart is full and filled with warmth whenever I think about Jesus willingly dying on the cross for me. It is such a humbling thought to know that He chose to bear my sins, my failures, and my burdens because of His great love.

Sometimes I find myself sitting quietly with my Bible, away from the noise of the day. There are moments when I stop reading and simply think about what Jesus did for me. My heart becomes so full that tears fill my eyes, not tears of sadness, but tears of gratitude. I am overwhelmed by the thought that Jesus didn't just die for the world. He died for me.

Then I stop for a moment and smile. Because that's not where the story ends. Jesus didn't stay in the grave. He rose. He is alive. Every time I think about that, I find myself filled with hope all over again. I don't serve a Savior whose story ended at Calvary. I serve a living Redeemer who still hears my prayers, still walks beside me, still gives me strength, and still reminds me that I am never alone.

I wonder if we've heard the resurrection story so many times that we've become familiar with it. Have we stopped lately to thank Jesus, not only for dying for us, but for living for us today?

One of my favorite declarations in Scripture comes from Job: "I know that my Redeemer lives." What makes those words so remarkable is that Job spoke them while his world was falling apart. He had lost so much and didn't have answers to the questions filling his heart. Yet he held tightly to one truth that nothing and no one could take away: His Redeemer lived. That reminds me that my hope has never depended on perfect circumstances. It has always rested in a living Savior.

I often think about the women who walked to Jesus' tomb early that Sunday morning. They carried spices, expecting to find the body of the One they loved. Instead, they found an empty tomb. The angel said, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!" (Luke 24:5–6).

Can you imagine hearing those words? In an instant, their sorrow turned to joy. Their fear gave way to hope. What they thought was the end was actually the beginning of the greatest victory the world has ever known. Isn't that just like God? So often He meets us at what feels like the end of our story and reminds us that He is still writing it.

Have you ever had one of those days when your mind won't slow down? You're praying, but you're also thinking about your family, your health, your finances, or something that's keeping you awake at night. I've had those days. When I do, I come back to one simple truth: My Redeemer lives.

Those four words steady my heart. Because He lives, I can trust Him with what I don't understand. Because He lives, I don't have to carry tomorrow before it gets here. Because He lives, I know that no disappointment, no loss, no fear, and not even death has the final word. Jesus does. And somehow, just remembering that fills my heart with peace.

The cross reveals the depth of God's love. The empty tomb proclaims the power of His victory. Because my Redeemer lives, my hope is alive, my future is secure, and my heart can rest in Him.

Pearl's Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me enough to send Jesus to die in my place. Thank You that the story did not end at the cross, but with an empty tomb and the promise of eternal life. Help me to live each day with the confidence that my Redeemer is alive and working in my life. When I become discouraged, remind me that You have already won the victory. Fill my heart with hope, gratitude, and unwavering faith. In Jesus' name, Amen.
