"Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what He has done for me." Psalm 66:16 (NIV)
Some mornings I sit down to write and wonder if I have anything worth saying. I am not a theologian. I am not a Bible scholar. I am simply a woman who has spent a lifetime watching God work. Through seasons of joy and seasons of struggle, I have seen His hand guide, provide, comfort, and sustain. The more I walk with Him, the more I realize that some of life's greatest lessons are found not in extraordinary moments, but in the ordinary moments where God quietly reveals Himself.
The psalmist understood this when he wrote, "Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what He has done for me" (Psalm 66:16). He did not offer a theological lecture. He simply shared his experience with God.
The same principle appears in the story of the man Jesus healed in Mark 5:1-20. After being delivered from a life of torment, the man wanted to travel with Jesus. Instead, Jesus gave him a different assignment: "Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how He has had mercy on you" (Mark 5:19). The man was not a scholar. He had no formal training. What he had was a testimony. Jesus knew that a transformed life would speak louder than many words.
Our testimony is one of the most powerful tools God has given us. People may question our knowledge, but they cannot deny our experience. They may debate theology, but they cannot argue with the evidence of God's faithfulness in a life that has been touched by His grace.
As I reflect on this, I realize this is how Pearl's Grace evolved. It is a daily record of walking with God, seeing His hand throughout everyday life, recognizing His presence in ordinary moments, and discovering His lessons along the journey. I discovered that God's lessons are not confined to church pews or Bible studies. I find Him in my garden among the flowers and fruit trees. I see Him in the laughter of my grandchildren, in moments of celebration, and even in seasons of uncertainty. Pearls of Grace became a place where I could gather those moments and share them with others.
Each devotion is simply an invitation to pause and recognize where God is at work. It is a reminder that God is not distant. He is present. He is guiding, teaching, comforting, correcting, and loving us through the details of our daily lives.
God has commissioned every believer to be a witness. Not all of us are called to stand behind a pulpit, but all of us are called to tell what we have seen, heard, and experienced. We do not have to be all-knowing or perfectly versed in Scripture. We simply need to be willing to share how God has walked with us.Like the man Jesus sent home, our assignment is simple: tell others what the Lord has done.
Take a moment and think about what God has done for you lately. Not ten years ago. Not only in the dramatic moments of life. What has He done this week? Where have you seen His hand? How has He provided, protected, encouraged, or strengthened you? Sometimes the testimonies that change lives are found in the moments we almost overlook.
Your testimony may seem ordinary to you, but it may be the evidence someone else needs to believe that God is still at work. If sharing your story encourages someone to trust God more, seek Him more intentionally, or recognize His presence in their own life, then you have fulfilled the mission He has given you.
Pearl's Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for walking with me through every season of life. Help me never to underestimate the power of my testimony. Give me the courage to share Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your faithfulness with others. Open my eyes to see Your hand at work each day and help me point others toward You through my words and my life. May my story always bring glory to Your name.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
