“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” Proverbs 31:25
There is something beautiful about Women’s History Month. It gives us a moment to pause and honor the strength, courage, and faith of women whose lives have left a mark on families, communities, churches, and generations. Some women made history from stages and pulpits. Others made history in kitchens, classrooms, pews, and prayer closets. Some were publicly celebrated, while others were known only by the people they lifted, loved, and led. Still, every one of them mattered.
This month reminds me that women have always carried more than what meets the eye. We carry vision. We carry burdens. We carry prayers. We carry homes, ministries, assignments, and often the quiet weight of encouraging others while trying to stay encouraged ourselves. In the middle of all that giving, a woman can sometimes begin to wonder whether what she is doing truly matters. She can question whether her own life holds significance beyond the needs she meets for everyone else.
But God has never seen women as background figures. He has always called women with purpose. Scripture gives us beautiful reminders of this truth. Deborah led with wisdom and courage under the palm tree. Esther stepped into a dangerous moment with holy boldness. Mary said yes to an assignment she could not fully understand, yet her obedience helped change the world. These women were not accidental to God’s plan. They were chosen, positioned, and entrusted. Their stories remind us that purpose is not reserved for the loudest voice or the most visible life. It is given by God to every woman who is willing to trust Him.
That is why Women’s History Month carries such meaning. It is not only a time to look back with admiration. It is also a time to look within and remember that God is still writing through women today. He is still moving through the mother who keeps praying, the leader who keeps serving, the teacher who keeps pouring, the caregiver who keeps loving, and the weary woman who keeps showing up though no one fully sees the cost. Heaven sees. God sees. And purpose still rests on her life.
Women’s History Month reminds us that our stories matter, not because we are competing with one another, but because each of us carries something sacred that the world needs. Purpose does not always unfold in grand or obvious ways. At times, it is found in the quiet faithfulness of showing up, in the courage to keep going after disappointment, and in the strength to pour out love when your own heart feels worn. Sometimes purpose is revealed in the prayers you whisper, the burdens you carry with grace, and the steady trust that God is still leading even when the next step is not yet clear.
So let this month be more than a celebration of notable women from the past. Let it also be a reminder to the woman reading this now: your life matters. Your faith matters. Your voice matters. Your obedience matters. Your healing matters. God created you with intention, and He did not place you here empty-handed. There is grace on your life, and there is purpose in your path.
You may not see the full picture yet, but you can trust the One who wrote your story. The same God who strengthened women before you is strengthening you now. Walk in grace. Stand in purpose. And remember, you are not just witnessing history, you are part of God’s unfolding work in the earth.
Where is God asking you to honor the purpose He placed on your life?
Pearl's Prayer
Lord, thank You for the gift, strength, and beauty of women. Thank You for every woman who has prayed, persevered, served, and poured into others. Remind us that we are called with purpose and covered by Your grace. Heal the places where we have doubted our worth, and help us walk boldly in the assignment You have given us. Let our lives reflect Your wisdom, compassion, and strength.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
I am chosen by God, strengthened by grace, and called for a purpose.
