"Shaking Headlines"

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom…”  Matthew 24:6–7 (KJV)

There is something unsettling about living in a time when the words of Jesus sound like tonight’s news broadcast. Wars. Rumors of wars. Nations rising. Global unrest. We scroll. We listen. We watch. And if we are not careful, anxiety quietly takes a seat in our chest.

But notice what Jesus says: “See that ye be not troubled.” That command almost stops you mid-breath. He did not say you wouldn’t hear about it. He did not say it wouldn’t feel close.
He did not say the world wouldn’t shake. He said: Do not be troubled. That means peace is still possible in prophetic times.

Prophecy was not given to panic us, but to prepare us. Jesus spoke these words to steady His followers, not frighten them. He was saying: when you see instability around you, do not assume I have lost control.

Wars do not surprise God. Political unrest does not disrupt heaven’s throne. Kingdoms may shake, but His Kingdom does not. Hebrews 12:28 reminds us we are receiving “a kingdom which cannot be moved.” The world may feel unstable, but the believer stands in something unshakable.

Nothing happening globally is outside His knowledge. Prophecy unfolding is not chaos, it is confirmation that His Word is true. “Nation shall rise against nation,” yet Scripture still declares: “The Lord reigneth.” (Psalm 97:1). He is not reacting. He is reigning. Jesus said in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you… Let not your heart be troubled.” The world may not have peace, but you can.

What does this means for us today? This is not the hour for fear. It is the hour for faith. Not the hour to withdraw in panic, but to stand in prayer. When the world trembles, the church steadies. When the news shouts, the Spirit whispers. When uncertainty increases, our faith and trust must deepen.

So if global events have unsettled you remember, the One who foretold the shaking is the same One who sustains us through it. We are not living in random times. We are living in revealed times. If prophecy is unfolding, so is His promise.

Wars may increase. Rumors may spread. Systems may shift. But God has not moved. And because He has not moved, you do not have to either. Stand steady. Pray deeply. Love boldly.
Trust completely. For in times like these, faith becomes our loudest declaration: God is still in control.

Pearl's Prayer:

Father, In a world that feels loud and unstable, steady our hearts. When headlines try to unsettle us, anchor us in Your Word. Replace anxiety with assurance. Replace tension with trust. Replace uncertainty with unshakable faith. Remind us that You are not reacting. You are reigning.

Help us to be people of calm confidence in chaotic times. Let our homes carry peace. Let our prayers carry power. Let our faith speak louder than the noise around us. As nations rise and systems shift, keep our hearts fixed on Your Kingdom that cannot be moved. We choose today to stand steady.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
