She sits with the year the way someone sits with a photo album, turning pages slowly, lingering where it matters. Some memories make her smile. Others still carry weight. Yet, when she pays attention, she can trace God’s fingerprints through it all: the strength she didn’t know she had, the comfort that came at the right time, the provision that showed up in unexpected ways, the lessons that shaped her, the people God used, and the doors He opened or closed for her protection.
Reflection becomes her altar. She doesn’t have to rewrite the year to praise God; she only has to tell the truth about it. God was faithful in the peaks, and God was near in the valleys. When she names the blessings, big and small, she gives God the honor He deserves and reminds her own heart that she is not walking into a new year alone.
So she chooses closure with intention: she releases what she cannot carry forward, forgives where she needs freedom, and thanks God for every moment that held mercy. She does not step into the new year with perfect answers, she steps in with a proven God.
Encouragement:
Take time to reflect. Write down three ways God provided, three lessons God taught, and three moments you are grateful for. Let praise be the final sentence of this year and let trust be the first sentence of the next.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for bringing her through this year. Thank You for every blessing, every lesson, every open door, and every closed door that protected her. Help her reflect with honesty and gratitude. Heal what still aches, settle what still feels unfinished, and give her peace as she releases this year into Your hands. As the new year begins, fill her with fresh faith, renewed strength, and a heart that expects Your goodness. Receive her praise, Lord—You have been faithful.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
